We need coding guidelines for
- Productivity
- Consistency
- Professionalism
- Shall - exceptions need approval by experienced gurus
- Should - review team has the authority to make an exception
- May - Recommended practice but not needed.
- Placement Matters - Move functions around to avoid Forward Declarations
- Don't Overallocate - Some points to APIs can be on the stack if you are sure the API is very simple and you are sure the stack with be intact.
- Inclusion Matters - Include headers only that are needed
- Pointers are Messy - Can it ever be NULL? If so when and when not. Are we allocating it and adding reference to it etc.
- Listeners - Are these initialized and cancelled just like interfaces.
- Interfaces - Are the interfaces Addref'ed and Released
- Guard Against NULL - Are the pointers always guarded for NULL checks
- Documentation Matters - Add nice useful comments
- Memory Leaks - Take care to see if we have avoided all
- Return Values - Are functions really returning what they are supposed to?
